Hot take: The drive-thru at the Burger Barn on Elm Street actually saved my week

I know everyone complains about them, but last Thursday I was running late for a vet appointment with my dog and they got my double cheeseburger order perfect in under two minutes. The manager, Carl, even threw in an extra order of fries when he saw how stressed I looked. Has anyone else had a surprisingly smooth fast food moment when they really needed it?

Honestly, that's the best feeling when a drive-thru just gets it right under pressure. I keep a couple protein bars in my glove box now for those crazy mornings. It sounds silly, but having a backup snack stops me from getting hangry if the line is long. That way, any good service feels like a bonus win instead of a desperate need. Your story about Carl is really nice, though. Those small acts of kindness can totally turn a bad day around.

Man, I once cried over a perfect drive-thru coffee, so I totally get it.

My friend did that with a burger, @emma455.
