Vent: Ordered a burger in Chicago and got a bun with nothing inside

The cashier just shrugged and said 'the kitchen is busy', so I had to ask for the manager to get a real one. Has anyone else gotten a completely empty sandwich before?

That cashier shrugging is what gets me. Not even a sorry, just a fact about the kitchen. I got a drink once with just ice and water, no soda syrup at all. It's like they're on autopilot and forget the main part of the order. A burger with no burger is a whole new level of forgetting.

Just ask them to check the bag before you leave.

How do they even box that up without noticing it's empty? The shrug is the worst part because it means they don't see a problem. It's not a mistake to them, it's just how things are. That autopilot thing is real, like their hands are moving but their brain checked out an hour ago. Getting a burger with no patty feels like a prank, but they're not even trying to be funny.
