Appreciation post: My old boss in Atlanta made me hand-cut every transition piece.

I did that for 3 years, always took forever. Now I use a basic miter saw jig I built for like $20. Cuts perfect 45s every time. Anyone else have a simple jig that saved them hours?

Hand-cutting all that trim sounds like a special kind of punishment. Spent way too long myself trying to get angles right by eye before my brain finally clicked on. That miter saw jig is a total game changer, isn't it? Mine's just some scrap wood and a couple of clamps, but it turned a frustrating hour into a five minute job. Feels stupid not to have done it sooner.

An HOUR by eye, @quinnm77? That's some real patience.

Special kind of punishment" is right, it's basically self-inflicted DIY torture. The jig is the only thing standing between me and a pile of kindling.
