Heads up on glue-down vinyl tile issues in room centers

I've been at this for years, but this job has me puzzled. I used strong glue on a concrete floor that was dry. Now the center tiles are loose, but the edges hold. I wonder if the slab has a bump I didn't catch.

That pattern with edges stuck and centers loose is the exact definition of a slab moisture issue. Calling that a tiny problem is crazy when it means the concrete is pushing vapor up through the middle. Even a small hidden damp spot will break that adhesive bond from the center out. You don't get that specific failure from just a hump. That tile is telling you the slab wasn't fully dry and it's a big deal.

Come on, that sounds like a tiny issue. Could be way worse with a bad glue job. Might just be a slight hump in the slab.

Yeah, Barbara's spot on. Seen that exact thing in a church basement we did. Edges looked perfect for months, then one day you could peel the middle tiles up like a sticker. Slab tested dry on the surface, but the meter went crazy when we checked deeper. Had to tear it all out and put down a moisture barrier. That wicking action from damp concrete will break any glue bond over time.
