PSA: I spent $150 on a laser level for tile work and it changed the whole job
I was setting a herringbone pattern in a small bathroom and kept second-guessing my chalk lines. The laser level gave me a perfect, constant line to follow for the whole floor. How did I ever work without one of these things?

My buddy did his whole kitchen backsplash freehand before he finally caved and got one, lol.

Saw a DIY blog where a guy tried that and his lines looked so wavy by the end. He said it was like his eyes just got tired and stopped seeing straight. The grout lines got bigger and smaller all the way across the wall. Makes sense why those little plastic leveling clips exist now, even for small jobs.

Been there. Your eyes play tricks after a few rows. Those clips are cheap and save a ton of time fixing mistakes. Even a small laser level helps keep your first course straight.
