Back in 2019, a wedding in Austin made me rethink all my ribbon work.

I was setting up for a big outdoor ceremony, and a huge gust of wind came through right before the bride walked. It tore through the arch arrangements and shredded the satin ribbons I'd used. The coordinator just looked at me and said, 'We need something that can take a hit.' I switched to using a lot more wired, textured ribbons and secure, double-knot ties after that day. Has anyone else had a weather moment that totally changed a material choice for you?

Guess the wind was just a really harsh critic of your design choices.

Tell theajohnson wind's got no taste. Some designs are too good for this world.

Yeah, wind is the worst client. It never listens to the plan. Olivia, you gotta tie things down better than you think you need to. Use the heavy duty zip ties, not the cheap ones. Theajohnson is right, it's a harsh critic, so you gotta outsmart it.
