I was wrong about those flower food packets from the wholesaler
For years I thought the little clear packets from our main supplier in Sacramento were just a gimmick, so I never used them. Then, for a big wedding order last month, I tried them on half the roses as a test. The ones with the packet stayed fresh for 4 full days longer than the others in the same cooler. Has anyone else done a side-by-side test like this with different brands?

Those packets are a total game changer for shelf life.

My buddy bought a huge bag of jerky and forgot about it in his garage for like a year. Found it when he was moving, and it was still totally fine. He said the only reason he even tried it was because of the little packet inside. Ate the whole thing, no problems. It’s wild how something so small can make that big of a difference. He swears by them now for any dry goods he stores.

Oh man, that's a great story... and I totally get why he trusted that little packet. I had a similar thing happen with some beef sticks I forgot in a backpack for like eight months, pulled them out and they were still chewy and fine. It's crazy how those silica gel things just suck up all the moisture and keep stuff from going bad or getting that stale taste. People laugh at them but they really do work, it's like magic in a tiny paper pouch. Makes you wonder why we don't put them in more stuff honestly.

Ever wonder if those packets actually work or is it just hype?
