Pro tip: a little bit of graphite powder in the flask pins works wonders
Had a stubborn pin on our old Hunter machine in Akron. Would stick every third pour. Tried oil, made a mess. Sprinkled some graphite dust from a lock lube tube on them. Slides smooth now, no more hammering. Anyone else got a fix for sticky flask hardware?

Graphite from a lock tube is a smart move. My old fix was just hitting it harder, which I guess is the foundry version of turning it off and on again.

Just make sure you wipe off the extra graphite after.

Oh man, the "hit it harder" method is a classic. Been there with a stuck drawer that just needed a good shoulder check. Sometimes the simple fix really does work, even if it feels a bit silly. Graphite is definitely the smarter long-term play though.
