Serious question, I had to pick between a new induction furnace or sticking with our old gas one for another season.
The old unit was costing us about $500 a month in gas for our aluminum pours, but the upfront cost for the electric system was steep. We went with the induction furnace last fall and our energy bill dropped by almost half after the first month. Has anyone else made that switch and noticed any issues with the quality of the melt?

Found our induction melt quality was actually better and more even.

My uncle's old forge had that same kind of steady heat, weirdly enough.

Yeah spencer_gonzalez1, I used to think old forges were best but seeing that even heat changed my mind.
