Spent $300 on a fancy tax software and it just made everything more confusing.
The interface was so cluttered I had to hire my actual accountant to fix the mess, so has anyone found a simple program that doesn't need a degree to figure out?

Honestly, I feel you on that. I switched to a super basic program last year after a similar mess, and it was a total game changer. Like @erickelly said, sometimes you just gotta wipe it and find something that doesn't make your head hurt.

Right? That cluttered interface is the worst. I did the same thing last year, ended up paying my guy to untangle it.

I just wiped it and started fresh.

Back up your clean version right away, maybe to a cloud folder. I learned the hard way when a plugin update broke my site a month later. Having that fresh backup saved me from having to redo all the work. Just label it clearly so you don't mix it up with the old files.
