Switched to billing per project after a $500 invoice fight over 'extra revisions'

Started giving flat quotes with exactly three rounds of changes listed in the contract... clients stopped nickel-and-diming me overnight. Anyone else ditch hourly billing for creative work?

My first flat rate contract saved me from a client who wanted endless tweaks on a logo design. I now list what counts as a new round, like changes to color or layout. It sets a clear line so there's no argument later. Clients actually make better decisions when they know the limit. Have you found you need to adjust what you include in those three rounds for different types of projects?

Ever thought about charging a small fee for extra rounds? It makes clients really think before asking for more changes.

What, you think I'm made of free revisions?
