Question about those 'always be pitching' advice posts
I thought chasing new clients every week was crazy until I landed a $5k project from a cold email I sent on a whim. Has anyone else found a specific time of day that works best for outreach?

That whole "perfect time" thing is a trap I fell into hard. I spent a whole month sending emails at 5:45 AM because some guru swore by it, but I just looked like a desperate zombie with typos. My best reply rate actually came from a batch I fired off at 7 PM on a Tuesday while watching a bad reality show - felt like I was just throwing spaghetti at the wall. Pretty sure the subject line was literally "quick idea" and they replied in ten minutes. Timing might matter, but my track record proves I have no clue what I'm doing either way.

Actually, the whole idea of a perfect time is kind of a trap... people check their phones constantly. A lunchtime email just gets buried in the afternoon pile. The real trick is catching someone when they're bored, like super late or super early, before the daily chaos starts. That's when a cold email feels like a distraction, not another task. Timing barely matters if your subject line is boring anyway.

Honestly, I have way better luck sending emails right after lunch.

That's interesting, my experience is totally different. I find people are often still in a post-lunch slump then. For me, mid-morning gets way more replies, maybe because everyone's finally caffeinated and caught up.
