Showerthought: Painting my office during a big project tanked my output
Honestly, I figured a fresh coat of paint would boost my mood. Ngl, the fumes and moving stuff ate up three whole workdays. I missed a client revision because I was too zonked from ladder time. How do you guys fit home stuff around tight freelance deadlines without crashing?

Painting in the middle of a project is like adding a side quest when the boss fight is already happening. I mean, those fumes aren't just smelly, they're basically productivity kryptonite. Idk, maybe it's just me, but I've never moved so much stuff only to realize I can't think straight. You traded work time for wall time, and now your output matches the drying paint. Next time, maybe just stare at the old color and pretend it's new. Freelance life means always picking the worst possible moment to 'get things done' at home.

Man, I feel that in my bones. Crack a window and point a fan out, it cuts the fumes by half. Otherwise you're just marinating in bad decisions all afternoon.

Wait, is it really the fumes that tank your focus or just the whole process? Moving furniture, prepping walls, that's a huge mental load on top of work. The smell is just the final straw. Next time maybe try a weekend with zero work calls, or hire a student for the heavy lifting part.
