Just hit 37 straight days of filming and my brain feels like mush

I was looking at my calendar last night and realized I haven't had a single day off from shooting since the start of April. It all started with a big corporate job in Austin that ran long, then a friend needed a last minute favor for a music video, and it just snowballed. I'm not even mad, just amazed I haven't forgotten a memory card or shown up to the wrong address yet. The weirdest part was filming a talking head interview for a local bakery and almost asking the owner if they wanted their 'b roll to be extra crispy'. I was so tired I mixed up video terms with cooking. Has anyone else pushed through a marathon shoot schedule and started to completely lose it like that?

Oh man, the mixing up terms thing is so real. My buddy was on a brutal documentary schedule and by week six, he asked a sound guy to "zoom in on that bird chirp." He meant boost the levels, but his brain just served him the wrong camera term entirely. We still give him grief about trying to get a close-up on audio.

Disagree with you on this one, @emmaking. That sound guy knew exactly what your buddy meant, and the phrase "zoom in on that bird chirp" is actually pretty clear communication under pressure.

That sound guy probably just nodded and boosted the gain.

Ever have those days where your brain just swaps words on you? I feel for @emmaking's buddy, that's pure tired brain talking. I once asked someone to "turn up the brightness" on a podcast... meant volume. You just get so deep into a project the wires cross.
