A guy in St. Louis tried to pay me with a pet raccoon for a chair repair
He brought in this old ladderback with a broken rung and said he was a little short on cash. I quoted him $75 for the fix, and he just looked at his truck and asked if I'd take his 'helper' instead. He opened the door and this raccoon poked its head out. I had to tell him I only take dollars, not critters. Has anyone else had a client offer something truly wild for your work?

He had a raccoon just riding shotgun?

Riding shotgun is a stretch, it was clearly in a travel crate on the passenger seat. The news article even said the crate was secured with a seatbelt. Makes way more sense than a loose raccoon just hanging out.
