Spent $400 on a 'miracle' grain filler that ruined a walnut table

The marketing said it dried clear and fast. It dried cloudy and took three days to set, forcing me to strip the entire top. Anyone have a grain filler they actually trust for open-pore woods?

Oh man, that's the classic "miracle" product special. Pay a fortune for the promise of easy work, and it just creates a whole new weekend project for you. I swear they make those labels in a factory that also prints "invisible mending" on super glue tubes. At least you got it stripped, that's a win after three days of staring at a cloudy table.

That "dried clear" lie is the worst. I just use timbermate now.

Ugh, tell me about it. I fell for that same promise on a can of wood filler last year (you know, the kind with the picture of a perfect, invisible repair). Ended up with a weird, shiny patch that looked worse than the scratch. It's like they think we won't notice it didn't dry clear at all. Timbermate's a solid choice, I've had way better luck with that stuff too.
