Tbh, I always used synthetic brushes, but a cherry cabinet's streaky finish convinced me to switch to natural bristles.

Found natural bristles fix streaky finishes every time.

Switched to natural bristles for a trim project and it was a total game-changer... no more of those awful brush marks. They just seem to hold the paint right and let it flow onto the surface so smooth. I used to fight with synthetic brushes leaving little streaks everywhere, but now I won't use anything else. That trick about soaking them first is solid too, makes them even better. Honestly, it's the best fix for a pro-looking finish without all the hassle.

Man, you're totally right about that. I started soaking mine in water and shaking them out before use. The bristles hold the paint way better and lay it down smooth.

My buddy was painting his kitchen cabinets and he was going nuts with the streaks. He called me over, ready to sand the whole thing down again. I handed him one of my old natural bristle brushes and told him to try one more coat. The difference was insane, like night and day. He said the brush just pulled the paint on so even and filled in all those thin spots. He bought a whole set the next day.
