I thought those smart plant sensors were a total gimmick

My wife got me a three pack of those little sticks you put in soil for my birthday last month. I figured it was just another useless gadget. But after putting one in my fiddle leaf fig, it actually told me the soil was still wet a week after I watered it. I was about to water it again. Saved the plant from root rot for sure. Now I check the app before I even pick up the watering can. Has anyone else had a gadget they thought was silly turn out to be really useful?

Found the same thing with my peace lily.

Ugh yeah they're so dramatic about water. Mine throws a fit and droops if I'm even a day late. I just give it a big drink and it perks back up in a few hours lol. They're basically the houseplant version of a moody teenager.

You tried letting the soil go a little drier between waterings? I started waiting until the leaves just barely started to droop before watering mine, and after a few cycles it seemed to get less dramatic about it.

Actually, peace lilies aren't true lilies.
