My new drone decided to land itself in a tree at Griffith Park

Was trying out the follow-me mode on my DJI Mini 3 Pro. It lost signal behind a big hill and the return-to-home sent it right into a pine tree. Took me an hour and a long stick to get it down, and one propeller was cracked. Anyone know a better way to set the home point in hilly areas?

Honestly I just set my home point manually after takeoff every single time.

My drone's return-to-home once tried to land on my ROOF, so trees sound like an upgrade honestly.

Ugh, that's rough. @the_viola, you gotta double-check your home point before you take off, man. Saved me from a rooftop rescue more than once.

My buddy's drone set its home point in the middle of a lake once. It just flew out over the water and tried to land. He had to manually fly it back while it was beeping a low battery warning. We were standing on the shore watching it dip toward the waves. He caught it just as the motors cut out.
