Showerthought: I finally figured out why my phone battery kept dying so fast

For like two years, I just accepted that my phone would be dead by 3 PM. I was charging it every night, so I figured it was just old. Then my friend in Chicago pointed out my screen brightness was at 100% all day, every day. I turned it down to about 50% and now it lasts until I go to bed. Did anyone else miss something that obvious for way too long?

Oh my god, yes... I did that exact same thing for months with my last phone. I just thought the battery was totally shot and I'd need a new one. It's crazy how you can just overlook something so simple when you're used to it. I felt like a genius and an idiot at the same time when I finally figured it out.

My old Galaxy S8 had that issue, but it was actually a bad charging port. I replaced the battery first and it didn't help at all. Sometimes the simple fix isn't the right one, and you just waste time and money.

Man, that feeling is so real. It's like our brains get stuck on a single track when we're troubleshooting. I see it everywhere, like when someone keeps trying a broken key in a lock without checking if it's even the right door. We get so focused on the complicated fix that the obvious answer just becomes invisible. It's a weird little blind spot in how we solve problems.
