Hit 1,000 paperweights made. All because my kid said they looked like alien eggs.

Been making them for years, just to practice color combos. Now I have a whole shelf of them. Anyone else end up with a weird side project that just kept going?

Look at it from a different angle. That yarn is full of potential, not monster hair. It's the start of something warm and handmade. Kids see the wild shape before it's made into something. I see the finished hat or scarf. There's a whole story in that tangled mess.

Alien eggs is a new one. My niece calls my yarn stash a rainbow spaghetti monster. It's funny how kids see the same thing so differently. They're not wrong, it does look like a mess before you start knitting.
