Tried a new color mix on a whim and got a weird, cool crackle effect

I was messing around with some leftover frit, mostly silver strike and a bit of cobalt, on a small marble. When I put it in the kiln, it came out with this wild crackle pattern I've never seen before. Has anyone else had a color combo do something totally unexpected like that?

That "covered in dust" thing Brian mentioned is the worst. I had a batch of rubino oro go completely chalky once, like it was coated in powdered sugar. Total mystery, never repeated it. Silver strike is just a drama queen sometimes, it loves to do weird stuff with other metals.

What if the kiln's humidity caused it?

Ever have a color just decide to do its own thing? I once mixed some amber purple with clear, and it just went completely matte, like it was covered in dust. Never could get it to happen again.
