Rant: That one curved shower door install that took me two full days

Got a call for a frameless curved shower door in a fancy remodel over in the West End. Looked straightforward from the spec sheet. I mean, the radius was tight, maybe 30 inches, and the wall wasn't perfectly plumb, but I've dealt with worse. Spent the entire first day just trying to get the track to sit right without binding, had to shim and recut the jamb twice. The second day was all about the glass panels and getting the hinges aligned so it swung smooth. What should have been a 4 hour job turned into 16 hours of pure headache. Anyone else have a nightmare with a curved track recently? What's your trick for the initial dry fit?

How do you even cut a curved jamb twice?

That "cut a curved jamb twice" line hits home. I've been there trying to fix a bad cut and just making it worse. It's one of those jobs where you know you're in for a long, frustrating afternoon.

Honestly, that sounds like a normal install to me, not a nightmare. A tight radius and an out of plumb wall are just part of the job description, and two days is pretty standard for a quality finish. Maybe the initial quote was just too optimistic, @morgan.jason.
