Question about a weird thing that happened with my truck keys last Tuesday

So last Tuesday, I was loading tools into my truck after a job in Phoenix. I put my keys on the tailgate, I know I did. I turned around to grab a box, maybe for ten seconds, and when I looked back they were gone. I searched everywhere, under the truck, in the grass, nothing. I was about to call a locksmith when I felt a lump in my jacket pocket. The keys were there, the same pocket I had already checked three times. It wasn't just misplacing them, it felt like the world flickered for a second and put them back. Has anyone else had a thing vanish and reappear in a place you already ruled out? It makes you question what you can really trust.

My old apartment in Tempe had that same vibe as adamt84's story.

Man, that's wild. Tbh it reminds me of the time my TV remote straight up vanished. I looked under every couch cushion, even pulled the fridge out. My buddy saw me looking and asked what was up. I told him and he just pointed at the coffee table. It was right there in the open, center of the table. I swear it wasn't there five seconds before. Felt like I was being messed with by something.

Had a buddy once who swore his car keys got stolen. He tore his whole place apart, even checked the trash can. Finally gave up and called his girlfriend to bring the spare. She walks in, picks up his jacket off the chair, and there they are in the pocket. He checked that jacket like three times before. I still give him crap about it.

Right? @adamt84, that's exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about. My car keys did the same trick last week, just sitting on the counter after I tore the house apart. Makes you feel like you're losing it for a second.
