PSA: I quit using my pocket for extra springs and learned why the hard way
I used to toss small gun springs into my pocket during takedowns. It felt like a quick fix to keep track of them. Then I accidentally put my loose change in the same pocket one afternoon. The springs instantly burrowed into the coin pile and vanished. I had to dump everything out and sift through it with a magnet. Now I stick to a dedicated cup on my bench, and nothing goes missing. Sometimes the simplest habits cause the biggest messes, right?

But what's wrong with just being more careful with your pockets? A cup on the bench can get bumped and spill just as easy. For a quick field strip, my pocket is faster and works fine if I just keep coins out.

Watched my buddy lose the tiny sear spring from his 1911 right into his shag carpet. He spent twenty minutes on his hands and knees with a flashlight, only finding it stuck to his sock after he gave up. Now he closes all the drains and lays down a towel before he even picks up a punch.
