Vent: I used to think my $40 shears from the mall were fine until I tried a proper pair at a trade show in Atlanta.
The difference in how clean my cuts are now, especially on thick hair, is honestly wild, so what's the one tool upgrade that actually changed your work?

Honestly, that sounds like a total waste of money. My cheap shears work just fine and my clients never complain.

Seriously though, if your cuts are fine and clients are happy, why change? @stella_black33 makes a point but sometimes good enough is actually good enough, right?

Work just fine" is a pretty low bar. You might not get complaints, but you're not getting the best results either. Good shears make cleaner cuts that keep hair healthier between appointments. It's not about the client noticing, it's about the actual quality of your work. Saving a few bucks now costs you in the long run with faster dulling and worse performance.

It's like saying a butter knife cuts steak just fine.
