Packing snacks is how we reach the top without any fights.

It's funny how often a simple, physical need like hunger gets twisted into an emotional problem. You see it in traffic jams and long meetings too, where being tired or thirsty makes people snap. Having a snack ready is a small act of care that stops a bad mood before it even starts. It's less about the food itself and more about showing you're paying attention to the group's basic comfort.

Reading that line about snacks keeping peace, @zara_murphy45, I remember a blog post on family hikes. It said hunger turns small annoyances into big arguments. Like when my cousin almost quit a walk until someone shared trail mix. Isn't it crazy how a bag of chips can save a day trip? I guess we all learn that food is the best peacekeeper.

My family did Old Rag last fall and we had plenty of snacks but still bickered. For us, the peace came from agreeing to take five minute breaks every hour, no questions asked. Sometimes it's less about hunger and more about letting everyone have a quiet moment to reset. We also switch up who gets to lead the line, which helps a lot.
