I thought lo-fi was just noise until a local band's album won me over
Their raw sound had a honesty I didn't expect. Now I look for that grit in new music.

My cousin's band spent like 5k on a studio demo that sounded super clean. It was weird hearing their punk songs without any mistakes lol.

You know when you said that raw vibe hits different? I actually look for the opposite in new music now. After getting into lo-fi, I started noticing how much work goes into really polished production, like in good synth-pop or some hip-hop. That clean sound takes just as much skill, just in a different way (maybe I'm just getting old). Sometimes I want music that sounds like it was made in a lab, not a garage.

Totally get that, it changes how you listen to everything else. That raw vibe just hits different once you find it.
