Warning: My phone silence hack backfired during a client call.

I fixed my focus by turning off my phone, but then I missed a big message. Now I can't decide if getting more work done is better than being easy to reach. What do you think?

Three months ago I had to eat crow in front of 40 people after my crew left a mess at a job site. The owner sent a group email to half the county. Best thing I did was call the guy up and talk through it face to face instead of hiding. Once you own it, the gossip dies down way faster.

Seriously, is it that big a deal? Stuff gets out and people forget fast. How bad could it be, probably not that serious. Silence isn't always smart, talking can help. Don't overthink it, just move on.
