Ever had a moment where a photography rule just didn't work for you? I was so stuck on the idea that street photos had to be totally candid, like a spy movie or something. Then one rainy day, my camera was getting wet and this lady with a bright umbrella smiled at me, so I just asked if I could take her picture. We ended up chatting for a bit, and that photo is still one of my favorites because it has this connection you don't always get from sneaky shots. It's funny how letting go of one rule can make your work feel more alive, you know?
