Heads up: That 'efficiency' app management pushed on us is just adding more busywork.

When @susan361 said she misses important stuff after muting chats, I did something similar. I turned off all my notifications to be less stressed, but now I keep unlocking my phone to check for messages anyway. It's like I made more work for myself just to feel in control, which is kinda dumb. My screen time report is probably laughing at me.

Read a piece on this exact thing. Doesn't it just make you want to throw your phone sometimes?

Saw an article last week about how notification systems are basically designed to make us feel behind. Now my group chat blows up with fifty messages about dinner plans, and every shopping app sends "last chance" alerts at 2 AM. It creates this low grade panic that you're missing something urgent when it's just spam. Honestly feels like my phone is constantly yelling at me for being offline.

Totally get that, it's like apps are trained to make us anxious. My phone buzzes all night with dumb alerts, it's exhausting. They want us to feel like we're missing out so we keep checking. I muted most group chats, but then I actually miss important stuff lol. It's a messed up system for sure.
