Question about thrift store restocking schedules, almost lost a gem
I looked for a vintage leather bag for close to a year. I went to the same spot every Thursday after work. Last month, I found it but held off hoping for a price cut. The next day, it was sold and I felt really bad. From this, I learned to buy cool items right when I see them. Thrift store shelves clear out quick with new stuff. Act fast or you might miss out on your perfect find.

My rule is to grab it immediately if it's something I've been hunting for.

Totally! I do the exact same thing, especially with out-of-print books. If I finally spot one for a decent price after years, I smash that buy button before my brain can even argue. The regret of watching it vanish from someone else's cart is way worse than the cost.

Ugh, been there with video game stuff. Saw a clean GameCube with controllers for twenty bucks, walked away to think, came back five minutes later and some guy was already at the register with it. My rule now is if it makes my brain do a double-take, it goes in my cart immediately. You can always put it back later if you change your mind.

Kevin331 smashing the buy button that fast is wild, I'd have regretted waiting even a second.
