Cracked 10,000 API calls on my little side project yesterday and it felt off
My hobby script for sorting car parts inventory crossed 10,000 API calls in one day. I built it over 3 weekends with zero planning, just cobbled code. Everyone raves about scaling up but nobody talks about how dumb luck hits those numbers. Running that many calls felt like I was cheating because the logic is still half broken. Anyone else hit a milestone and realize they just got lucky?

My buddy fixed his whole website but forgot to turn on the tracking pixel.

Yeah, the "forgot to turn on the tracking pixel" part is rough. I mean, all that work fixing the site and the data's basically useless for measuring traffic. It's like rebuilding your whole kitchen but leaving the stove unplugged. That 10k number he's seeing? It might as well be a fantasy if the pixel isn't firing correctly. He probably needs to double-check every single page it's supposed to be on now.
