Found a stat about AI training energy use that surprised me
I read a piece from the MIT Technology Review last night that said training GPT-3 used about 1,287 megawatt hours of electricity. That is roughly as much as 120 homes use in a year. I knew AI was power hungry but that number stuck with me. Anyone else think about the environmental cost when they run these models?

Eh, worrying about every new tech's power bill is pointless when bigger industries exist.
