My brother said AI is just a better calculator now, and it kinda stuck with me.

Oh come on. Half the time it's just confidently wrong about connections that don't exist. I've seen it "suggest patterns" that were complete nonsense once you looked at the actual data. People are giving it way too much credit for random luck.
