Paid $50 for an AI resume builder that just added buzzwords to my old one

Saw an ad for this AI tool named ResumeGenius Pro that claimed to rewrite your resume for modern ATS systems. Uploaded my old one and it literally just stuffed in words like 'synergy' and 'optimize' without changing the structure. Total waste of money since I got zero callbacks until I went back to a plain text format. Has anyone actually gotten a job from one of these AI resume tools?

Yeah I tried one of those and got the same thing - just a bunch of fluff words thrown in. Your best bet is to use a plain old template from Google Docs and tweak it yourself, way more control and you'll actually get callbacks.

Hang on, you paid $50 for that? I can't believe they charged actual money just to throw in "synergy" like it's 2014. @thomas_price is right, those Google Docs templates are way better. I tried one of those AI things for a friend's resume and it literally changed "managed a team of five" to "orchestrated cross-functional synergies" without even asking if that made sense. Completely useless.

I mean, "orchestrated cross-functional synergies" almost sounds like a parody of itself. Honestly though, maybe the bigger issue is that these tools are just training on buzzword-heavy LinkedIn profiles from 2015 and calling it good.
