TIL my AI art generator kept making hands with 7 fingers
Was messing around with Midjourney last Tuesday trying to generate a portrait for a D&D character sheet. The face looked amazing but every single hand came out with extra digits like some mutant alien. Spent 2 hours tweaking prompts with 'five fingers' before I finally got a normal hand. Has anyone else run into weird anatomy glitches with these models?

Oh man this reminds me of my friend Dave. He was trying to make a picture of a woman holding a cup of coffee for his blog header and the AI gave her like three thumbs on one hand and the coffee cup was floating through her fingers somehow. He got so frustrated he just gave up and drew it himself with a stick figure.

Dave's experience is my life with generative AI basically every time I try to use it. Last week I wanted a simple picture of a cat sitting on a windowsill for a dumb meme I was making and the thing gave me a cat with seven legs, no eyes, and the window was inside out somehow. I swear the software is designed to make you feel like a genius when it sort of works just to crush you when you see the final output has a fifth limb growing out of the cat's stomach. Stick figures might not win any design awards but at least they're anatomically correct.

Man, that's brutal but also kinda hilarious. Seven legs and no eyes is a new level of weird for me, I gotta ask though, what was the actual prompt you typed in? Cause sometimes it feels like the AI is just messing with you on purpose, like it knows you wanted a normal cat so it gave you a nightmare version instead. I've tried this stuff a few times and the results are so hit or miss it's almost not worth the effort, stick figures are way more reliable. It's like the software is built to show you a perfect preview and then deliver a total mess.
