Frozen fries beat fresh in the air fryer, heres my proof

Last month I did a side by side test with a bag of $2 frozen crinkles and some hand cut russets I soaked for an hour. The frozen ones came out crisp in 12 minutes, the fresh ones turned soft and took 18 with two shakes. Am I the only one who thinks the whole fresh-is-better thing is overrated here?
