I finally chose between frozen fries and making my own for the air fryer

I picked the frozen bag because I was short on time, and they came out surprisingly crispy after 12 minutes at 400 degrees. Anyone have a good recipe for homemade ones that are actually worth the extra effort?

My air fryer gets frozen fries perfect at 380 for 15 minutes, not 400.

Wait, only 15 minutes? Mine always takes at least 20, even for the small shoestring ones. Are you shaking the basket halfway through or just letting them sit?

Tried that exact time and temp last week. The fries came out a bit pale and soggy in the middle. Found that a quick spray of oil and bumping it to 400 for the last few minutes gets that crisp outside. Might just be my particular model, though.
