My air fryer basket latch broke mid-cook last night
Was making chicken thighs at 400 and the whole basket slid out when I went to shake them, dropped 3 pieces on the floor. Has anyone found a good replacement basket that actually locks tight?

That whole 'dropped 3 pieces on the floor' thing is rough. Isn't it funny how the one time you really need something to hold tight, it just gives up? Feels like that's how everything breaks these days, right at the worst moment.

My buddy Dave had the same thing happen with his air fryer last month, chicken went flying everywhere.

Three out of six pieces on the floor sounds like a sad little math problem (the answer is you're having toast for dinner). My old basket's latch started acting up after like 3 months, then one day I went to flip some fries and the whole thing just yeeted itself into the sink. I grabbed a replacement on Amazon that had a metal latch instead of the cheap plastic one, and so far it's been solid (knock on wood, literally). The brand was something generic like "CrispyQueen" but it's held up through like 40 cooks without loosening up. Just make sure you check the measurements, most of those things are off by a millimeter and then it's a whole new kind of frustration.
