My sister told me my air fryer chicken was dry, so I changed everything
She came over for dinner last Tuesday and took one bite of my air fryer chicken breast and just said 'it's like eating a shoe.' I was pretty annoyed at first but then I asked her what she does different. She told me to brine the chicken for 30 minutes in salt water before cooking, and to stop cooking it at 400 degrees for 20 minutes straight. I switched to 375 degrees for 15 minutes, flipping halfway, and the difference was night and day. Now I also pat the chicken dry before seasoning so the skin gets crispy instead of steaming. Has anyone else gotten feedback from a family member that totally changed your recipe?

Brining just sounds like extra work for chicken dinner honestly, idk if it's really that deep. Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't stress that much about one meal.

I've had people tell me my chicken was dry and I just shrugged and said "it's chicken, that's what happens." Brining for 30 minutes seems like a lot of extra steps for something that's gonna be eaten in 10 minutes.

Shook you'd just shrug it off instead of trying to fix it. Brining is like barely any extra work, throw it in salt water while you prep sides. Thirty minutes beats eating cardboard and pretending it's fine.
