Serious question, has anyone else had their air fryer just shut off mid-cook?

Mine cut out halfway through a batch of sweet potato fries in my kitchen last night, and I had to finish them in the regular oven. What's the usual fix for this, a reset or is it likely a bigger issue?

My old Cosori did that when the safety thermostat tripped from overheating. Let it cool completely, unplug it for a full ten minutes, and it might reset.

Oh man, my buddy's air fryer did the same blinking thing last week. He let it sit unplugged overnight and it fired right up in the morning.

Yeah, letting it cool and unplugging it is the move. I saw a whole thread where that fixed the same blinking light issue.

Yeah but I gotta push back a little on the "let it sit overnight" thing. Most of these things are designed with a thermal fuse that resets way faster than that. Ten minutes unplugged is plenty, like Nancy said. Leaving it unplugged overnight is fine but totally overkill unless your unit is literally too hot to touch. Also just a heads up, the blinking light pattern can sometimes tell you what tripped it. Check your manual for the diagnostic codes before you assume it's the thermostat.
