TIL I was crowding my air fryer for over a year
Last week I threw in a single chicken breast to test something and it came out way crispier than anything I ever made before. Turns out I was piling food in there like a toaster oven and blocking all the hot air flow. Who knew leaving space between pieces was the whole secret? Has anyone else had that moment where you realize you been doing it wrong the whole time?

Okay but hold on. I purposely cram my air fryer full. Single layer my butt. I pack that basket like a clown car. More food = more efficiency. Yeah the top gets a little soft but the bottom still crisps up fine. I'm feeding a family of four not just myself. Running that thing for two batches doubles the time and the electric bill. I'll take slightly less crispy over waiting twice as long every time.

Isn't it wild how many things work better when you just give them a little breathing room? Feels like that's true for a lot of stuff in life, not just cooking.

Guess you gotta treat your chicken like your personal space, not touching is better.
