Why does nobody talk about air fryer timer buttons wearing out

My old air fryer from 2019 finally gave up last month, the timer knob got so loose it would skip 10 minutes at a time and burn everything. My neighbor saw me cussing at it in the driveway and handed me her 5 year old one with the same problem, said she just uses a separate kitchen timer now. Does anyone else just ignore the built in timer and use a phone alarm instead, or am I the only one who lost that battle?
