Blew $65 on a borescope for my prebuy that turned into the most useful $65 I ever spent
I bought a cheap $65 USB borescope on Amazon mostly to check cylinder walls on a Lycoming O-320 for a prebuy last year in Wichita. The deal fell apart over a bad exhaust valve, but three weeks later that same scope helped me find a cracked spar in a customer's Cherokee that saved him around $12k in a potential in-flight failure. What cheap tool did you buy for one job and end up using way more than you planned?
