Finally got my 100th annual inspection sign-off without a single write-up
I've been working on the same fleet of Cessna 172s for a local flight school for about 4 years now. My boss just pointed out that my last inspection sheet was the 100th one in a row where the pilot found no squawks on the post-inspection flight. Honestly didn't even realize I was keeping count. Anyone else get a quiet win like that, where you only notice the streak after it's already happened?

Ever think about how that streak is a huge trust builder with the pilots? They must get in that plane with zero worry, which is a pretty big deal for a training plane. That kind of quiet confidence is way better than any trophy.

That's a really good point about the pilots' mindset. I hadn't thought about it from their side of the cockpit door. For a student pilot, that first solo is nerve-wracking enough without doubting the plane. So that 50-year safety record isn't just a stat, it's a mental safety net. Do you think that level of ingrained trust actually makes them better pilots in the long run, because they're not fighting the machine?

Honestly, that trust could make them complacent if something new goes wrong.

You hit on something huge there. That trust lets pilots focus on learning the actual skills instead of just trying to keep the thing in the air. It's like using a really solid, basic tool you never have to second guess. Your brainpower goes into the craft itself, not fighting your equipment. That foundation builds way better habits for when they move to more complex planes later on.
