I finally stopped using the factory torque specs for our old 737s
After 12 years I got sick of chasing corrosion in the flap track housings on our 737-300s. The manual says 120 inch pounds but every dry thread in Phoenix would bind up halfway and give you a false reading. I started subtracting 15% and adding a light coat of anti-seize on the bolts, and my rework rate dropped from like 1 in 4 jobs to maybe 1 in 10. Am I the only one who adjusts torque for desert heat, or do you guys all stick to the book in your region too?
