I mean, during a hangar tour for a local school, a kid looked me dead in the eye and asked if we use glue to hold the wings on. Idk, maybe it's just me but that was the funniest thing all week.

Tell them it's a special kind of glue called a sealant. It keeps the air out and the fuel in, but the bolts do the real holding.

The glue for wings question changed my mind after years of thinking it was a stupid idea.

Still seems like a pretty shaky plan honestly. Wings need way more than just glue to handle real stress. The basic idea just doesn't hold up in practice.
