I was cleaning a fuel nozzle wrong for a solid year until a new guy pointed it out

I always used the standard solvent soak and a shop air blast to clear the tiny holes, thinking that was good enough. Last month, a new mechanic from a cargo outfit watched me and said, 'You know, they make a specific ultrasonic bath for that part, right?' He showed me the one in the back of the hangar I'd never used. I ran the nozzle through it and the amount of extra gunk that came out was shocking. Has anyone else found a tool at their shop they were totally sleeping on?

Man, I feel that. I did the same thing with our old torque wrenches for ages, just trusting the click. Then I found the calibration station tucked behind the spare parts bins. Checked one of my daily wrenches and it was way out of spec. Felt like a total idiot, but now I check them every month. That little station saved me from some real headaches.

Yeah, that's a solid move by @aaron880... monthly checks are the only way to trust the click.

Used to think yearly was fine but @aaron880's story convinced me monthly is the way to go.
