Rant: Hit 500 consecutive aircraft sign-offs without a single write-up

I hit 500 sign-offs in a row last week without a single mechanic write-up coming back on my work. That number surprised me because I have been doing this for 22 years and I never counted before. My lead mechanic pulled me aside and showed me the log after a customer audit came through clean. Honestly it felt good for about ten minutes then I realized how much pressure that puts on number 501. I work on Gulfstream GIVs at a shop near Savannah and we have a lot of eyes on every bolt we touch. The thing that got me to this point was double checking my torque values before closing panels not after. Has anyone else ever tracked a streak like that or am I the only weirdo who keeps a mental tally?

Man, that's the same discipline that keeps your car from dying at a red light, just way higher stakes.

Those GIVs are finicky birds. I worked on them for a while at a smaller MRO and the torque values on the wing access panels are super specific, you gotta be real careful there. But you said you double check before closing panels and that's good practice for sure. Just watch out for the fuel system stuff on those models, the O-rings can be tricky if they are a little cold when you seat them.

Cold O-rings are the worst, warm them up first always works for me.
